Gather Dress Workshop

The Gather Dress by Kate Hancock is a full-length, voluminous dress with puff sleeves, a round neckline, in-seam pockets and adjustable ties that create the ruched detailing through the bodice. It is perfect for fun prints, checks and stripes, and can be cut on the straight grain or on the bias for a softer, more fluid drape.

Across the course, you will learn how to prepare and cut your pattern, make and attach bias binding, sew in-seam pockets and create a keyhole closure at the back. We will also work through sewing buttonholes and constructing the ties that form the dress’s distinctive gathered effect.
