- Miro Top by Sue-Ching Lascelles
The Miro Top is a relaxed, easy-to-wear top with a clever crossover front and beautiful, simple construction.
Designed by Sue-Ching Lascelles, the Miro Top features grown-on sleeves finished with cuffs and long front ties that create the distinctive wrapped shape. The ties can be crossed over and tied at the back, or worn more loosely and tied at the front, giving you a few different ways to style the finished top.
Across the workshop, we’ll work through the Miro Top from beginning to end. We’ll start by taking measurements, choosing your size, preparing the pattern and cutting your fabric, before moving through the full construction of the top.
You’ll learn how to work with light to medium-weight woven fabrics, construct the crossover front, sew the grown-on sleeves and cuffs, create and finish the ties, and work through neat garment finishing techniques. It’s a lovely project for building confidence with garment sewing without being overly complicated.
This workshop is suitable for beginners, who want to try out some new techniques.
The pattern is available in sizes 2XS–7XL.
Everything you need for this project will be provided for you, including your own copy of the Miro Top pattern, fabric, sewing machine and all the tools and equipment we’ll be using.
You’ll leave with your finished Miro Top, your own copy of the pattern to use again, and the skills to make another one at home.
