Aspen Dress Workshop

Everything you need for this project will be provided for you.

The Aspyn Dress by Made By Laur is the perfect little summer dress. With its sleeveless shape, boat neckline, low back and softly flared silhouette, it’s an easy, wearable style that you’ll want to make again and again, which can be made with the gathers at the neck, or without, can be lengthened or shortened to your liking. 

Across the workshop, we’ll work through the Aspyn Dress from beginning to end. We’ll start by taking measurements, choosing your size, preparing the pattern and cutting your fabric, before moving through the full construction of the dress.

You’ll learn how to create a clean neckline and armhole finish, work with bias tape, sew smooth curved seams and bring everything together for a neat, professional finish. We’ll also cover pressing, hemming and all the little details that make a handmade garment feel beautifully finished.

This is a great next-step garment project and is suitable for confident beginners. You don’t need loads of sewing experience, but you should feel comfortable using a sewing machine and sewing a basic seam.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with your very own Aspyn or Camille Dress, plus your own copy of the pattern so you can make it again at home.

Your workshop includes your fabric, bias tape, a copy of the pattern, thread, use of a sewing machine and all of the tools and equipment you’ll need.
